Flawed Perfection

Flawed Perfection - Cassandra Giovanni 4.5 Cocktails

Wow! What a ride with this story. I generally don't like love triangles, because undoubtedly the guy I like isn't the one that gets the girl. But this one has a bit of a twist, involving a girl and two brothers.

River has been best friends with the Beckerson brothers, Bobby and Adam, since she was a little girl. She's best friends with both of them, but her feelings for have been very clear: she loved Bobby as a brother and Adam as so much more. I felt a little sorry for River, because she just couldn't let go over her feelings for River. She watched women parade in and out of his life, getting her heart broken a little bit each time. As she pines away for River, Bobby is always there, flirting and dropping little comments that very clearly make her aware of his feelings for her. You knew she didn't want to be put in the middle of the brothers, but because of the feelings everyone had, there was no way not to get in the middle.

It was hard not to love Adam. He grew up being cast aside by his parents, who only had eyes for their golden eldest son, Bobby. So thinking he's not good enough, because his parent constantly drum that into his head, he doesn't think he's good enough for River, who he loves. He goes about dealing with the feelings he fights by having a revolving door of women, but we know who he wants. You almost want to fist pump when he finally grows a pair and fesses up to his feelings.

There was a huge shocker towards the end of the book, one that changes the entire dynamic of the relationship between the brothers and River. Luckily, we're close enough to the Spring 2014 release day of book 2 in the series that I can patiently wait to see what happens next.
